Glas Fusing with Ellen Prinse writer of the successbook 'Glasfusing - De Techniek in de Praktijk.'
For glas fusing, a good knowledge is required of the material and firing techniques.
Which types of glass you can mix, which materials you can put in between layers of glass, on which temperature you must fire,
and how the fire process works. Where are the risks and how do you prevent air bubbles.
All this, and still much more, is the necessary information you need to be able to start with fusing yourself.
For this reason we organize a 2-day fusing class, mainly to obtain this necessary knowledge, and NOT to make a beautiful end product.
Especially for that, we cover a lot of theory, sometimes commented with practical examples.
In between we always make small test pieces to bring the discussed theory in practice.
The test pieces get fired, and the results of this first firing will be analysed and discussed in group on the 2nd day.
The classes are given in 2 complete saturdays, form 9.30 am until 5 pm, so that there is sufficient time to be able to learn this rather technical matter.
We work in groups of minimum 5 and maximum 8 persons.
